Philosophy of Care

The Committee responsible for the Home is appointed by the Bishop of Hallam and both they and the staff are committed to the following Philosophy of Care:

• residents come first

• staff understand and respond to the many and varied needs of residents, including their spiritual needs

• each resident's individuality is respected

• staff commit themselves to creating an atmosphere in which elderly people find the assistance they need in order to maximise their independence

• family and friends are welcome to visit the Home whenever they choose. Conversely, residents are free to visit and/or stay with family or friends and every assistance is offered to enable this.

The special atmosphere at Burghwallis Hall reflects the commitment to the care of residents.
