Home

We aim to provide pastoral care for Catholic Deaf people by providing signed Masses and other services when required, including help and support concerning matters of faith and spirituality for Deaf people and their families

We also offer advice and information to parishes and other organisations, particularly within the Church, on the need and provision of services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people

We advocate that the word “Deaf” (upper case "D") refers to only those people who identify themselves as part of the Deaf community and who use BSL (British Sign Language).
The word “deaf” (lower case "d") refers to all people who have a measurable hearing loss i.e. hard of hearing, deafened (no useful hearing, in later life), prelingularly deaf (from early life) and not members of the Deaf community, and the Deaf community
